Exercise: How sustainable is your workload?
Journal exercise: 15 mins approx
Take 10–15 minutes to pause and explore your current workload. Use the questions below as prompts. There are no right or wrong answers—only insights that can help you move toward a healthier, more balanced way of working.
1. How does your current workload make you feel on a day‑to‑day basis?
Consider your energy levels, stress, motivation, and overall wellbeing. What emotions come up most often during a typical workday?
2. Which tasks or responsibilities are draining the most time or energy—and why?
Think about patterns: Is it volume? Complexity? Interruptions? Lack of clarity? Identify where the pressure builds.
3. What boundaries, habits, or support systems do you have in place to manage your workload sustainably?
Reflect on what’s currently helping you. Are these strategies working well, or do they need adjustment?
4. If your workload continues as it is for the next 3–6 months, what impact do you expect it to have? What changes could you introduce to improve sustainability?
Imagine the future—positive or negative. Then consider one or two practical steps you could take to regain balance.
